GETTING TO OPITO POINT LODGE

'Western Route' - From Thames, Opito Point Lodge is a scenic 2hr drive along the stunning seabird coast up to the delightful town of Coromandel. From there you pass over the range and into Kūaotunu. As you pass through Kūaotunu, take a left at Black Jack Road where you'll find the iconic seaside restaurant 'Luke’s Kitchen.’ Follow Blackjack Road for approximately 14 minutes to reach Opito Bay.

The lodge is set off the beaten track, and much of the final stretch is gravel, so take your time and enjoy the views as the destination is well worth the journey.

BY ROAD

Luxury Helicopter

A private helicopter with Volta Aviation can pick you up directly from Ardmore airport to bring you straight to Opito with incredible scenic views all the way. Bookings essential.

International

For international travellers, Auckland Airport is the main entry point to the region. From there, guests can choose to hire a car for the scenic journey east or connect with regional transport services that bring you closer to the coast.

Domestic

Domestic travellers can fly directly into Whitianga Airport, which places you just a short drive from Opito Bay. After landing, the route to the lodge takes you through quiet rural roads, native bush, and stretches of open coastline that showcase the natural beauty the Coromandel is known for.
